George Creel was a journalist who was best known as the man in charge of the World War 1 era propaganda organization, the Committee on Public Information.
Creel was of the belief that "Nothing is more true than that people do not live by bread alone; catch-phrases constitute a staple article of diet, especially in a democracy.".[1][2]
