Automated teller machine commonly referred to as ATM is a kiosk-style machine that a bank provides customers access to personal savings and checking accounts, to withdraw or deposit money. The machine replaces interaction with bank branch staff and is conveniently accessible for 24 hours a day. Nearly all banks accept other banks transactions. Fees are typically $3 or higher for withdraws that take place on ATMs not owned by your bank.
The number of ATM withdrawals consumers made in 2012 was 5.8 billion. [1]
