Continental Army

The Continental Army was the army of the United States during the American Revolution. It was led by George Washington, and comprised a national army as opposed to state and local militias.
It was established by the Continental Congress in 1775, and disbanded when the United States Congress created the United States Army in 1784.
Its headquarters was in Morristown, New Jersey.
