Direct current

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by DavidB4-bot (talk | contribs) at 23:01, June 27, 2016. It may differ significantly from current revision.

Direct Current (DC) is a voltage or current that does not vary with time. It is the form in which electricity is generated by a chemical cell (battery), a solar cell (photovoltaic) or a DC generator. DC is not used for power transmission because it cannot be manipulated by a transformer.
