Thiago Alves, nicknamed "Pitbull", is a mixed martial artist currently fighting in the UFC's Welterweight division. His current professional record is 16-3. Known as one of the top welterweight contenders, Alves has some big wins under his belt, including wins over former champion Matt Hughes and other top contender Josh Koscheck.[1] Top MMA site Sherdog names him the number nine pound-for-pound fighter in the world.[2]
