The most significant of The Council of Tours (a city in France that was the seat of many councils of the early Christian church after the fall of the Roman Empire) was the Second Council of Tours in A.D. 567, at which the celebration of Christmas in the West on December 25 was combined with the celebration of the Epiphany in the East on January 6, to form the Twelve Days of Christmas.
