Aboutism is a term coined by therapist Frederic Perls to refer to an over-reliance on intellectualization and second-hand learning rather than on experience.[1] Perls rejected the tendency of science to rely entirely on objective, naturalistic data, believing that this tendency towards impersonal intellectual analysis was an obstacle to understanding the human psyche.
