Assam

Assam is a state of India in Northeastern India located near Burma, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. The elevation is generally low and the climate extremely warm and moist, and so Assam is highly suited to agriculture. In terms of the sheer volume which is cultivated and harvested, Assam is the most important tea-producing region in India. The majority religion is Hindu, although the state also contains a substantial Muslim minority.
The capital city of Assam is Dispur.
