Langlands program

Langlands program is an attempt at a grand unification of mathematics. It consists of conjectures that seek to connect different fields of mathematics with each other.
First proposed in the late 1960s, it remains far from its goal. Many professorships and awards are granted, however, based on solving problems generated by this program.
