Vodafone Group Plc, a British company, is the world's largest wireless carrier.
On July 16, 2007, it denied a report that it was planning to make an historic $160 billion bid to buy Verizon Communications Inc., one of the largest telecommunications companies in the United States. However it did take over a large amount of Verizon.
