Edmund Christopher Joyce, known as Ed, is an integral member of the English cricket team. Born on 22 September 1978 in Dublin despite this he took up playing for England in 2006. He bats left handed normally as an opener, regularly scoring hundreds for county and country.
One Day Internationals
He has played 17 ODIs to date with a batting average of 30.66 and one ODI hundred and three 50s in the Commonwealth Bank Series, Winter 2006/7. In a decision regarded by most cricketing pundits as absurd, Joyce was dropped for the remaining Super Eight games despite two World Cup half centuries.
County cricket
Joyce plays county cricket for Middlesex and has scored over 7,500 county runs. He made his debut in 1999 and has been a regular for the side averaging 46.
