Mean Girls is a movie about Cady, a homeschooled teen raised in Africa by scientist parents, who nearly loses herself in the social jungle of an American high school. The screenplay, inspired by Rosalind Wiseman's Queen Bees and Wannabes, was by Tina Fey, who plays Cady's math teacher. In Cady's school, social life is divided into various cliques, such as nerds, Asians, stoners, and jocks. A clique of three wealthy girls (whom others call the "Plastics") ask Cady to join them.
