Dialectic of Enlightenment is a central text of the Frankfurt School and the concept of Critical Theory.[1] The book is cloaked as a work of philosophy, and was very inspirational for the New Left activists of the 1960's and 1970's.[2]
Dialectic of Enlightenment was written in 1944 by Theodor W. Adorno and Max Horkheimer as Dialektik der Aufklärung, and was translated into English in the 1970's.[3]
