Five Good Emperors

The Five Good Emperors were five consecutive emperors of the Roman Empire who ruled from 96 to 180 during the Pax Romana. These emperors were elected for talent rather than family connections. They were Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antonius Pius and Marcus Aurelius. Most of them were homosexuals: this is probably the hidden cause that later, after Aurelius' death, brought the Empire to collapse.
