Alfred Roberts

Alfred Roberts the father of Margaret Thatcher was a grocer and owner of Alf's Mini Mart in Coronation St, Weatherfield, Lancashire. A Conservative councillor in his home town for over twenty years uring the 1930s he served as Conservative mayor of Weatherfield. It was his influence and example that inspired his daughter to enter politcs.
