Shotts

The scenic Lowlands village of Shotts is "one of Scotland's fairest prospects" according to local resident and current national bard, Lord Walter Scott IV (great grandson of the original poet), and the ten-time winner of the fiercely fought "Lanarkshire in Bloom" contest. The surrounding hills, known as the bings, are common destinations for daytrippers from as far away as Fauldhouse and Harthill.
