Highlands of Scotland

The largest local authority area in the United Kingdom, the Scottish Highlands consist of the area of the British mainland north and West of the Highland Boundary Fault, which runs roughly from Auchawawiye in the South West to (Twabo Atilsae) Buckie in the North East.
Popularly considered a region of mystery and legend, the Highlands have recently begun to shake off their sleepy image and are a booming centre of such modern industries as single-filament fishing net manufacture and peat recycling.
