The RPG-7 (Russian Ð ÐÐ-7) is a handheld anti-tank grenade launcher, developed by the Soviet Union in 1961. It is the most widely produced grenade launcher in history, with several million in circulation. In this case, RPG stands for Ruchnoy Protivotankoviy Granatomet, which literally means "a handheld anti-tank grenade launcher".
The RPG-7 has seen action in most major conflicts fought since 1961. It has been used by both terrorist and paramilitary forces, and official military forces.
