Wikia[1] (formerly Wikicities[2]) is a wiki farm founded and run by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales and Wikimedia Foundation board member Angela Beesley.[3] It has raised millions in investments and reportedly enjoys preferential treatment by Wikipedia.[4] Wikia is slowly declining, and many of its wikis are now abandoned or receive few edits. It has changed to "Fandom" on October 4, 2016.
