Fulgencio Batista

Fulgencio Batista was the dictator of Cuba before Fidel Castro. His actions while ruler sparked the revolution, for he maintained a starving state and mocked the people with events such as "elections", where he ran unopposed. He was overthrown when the U.S. started to back Fidel Castro. He fled the country and Castro took over as dictator of Cuba.
