Very high frequency, often abbreviated VHF, is the part of the radio spectrum from 30 to 300 megahertz, which includes broadcast television channels 2-13, the FM broadcast band and some marine, aviation and land mobile services.[1] As VHF waves do not strongly reflect off the ionosphere, they cannot be used to transmit signals beyond the horizon.
