Nicolas Sarkozy (born in 1955) is a French conservative politician. He is the president of the "Union pour un Mouvement Populaire", France's main conservative party, and one of the main candidates for the presidential elections of 2007. Up until March 26th, 2007, he was also the Interior Minister. Sarkozy is considered to be more pro-American than most French politicians.[Citation Needed]. Sarkozy is also notorious for claiming that his intention was to 'wash away the scum', when referring to the 2005 Paris Riots[1]
Sarkozy, 52, is an atypical Frenchman. He is the son of a Hungarian father (real name: Sarkozy de Nagy-Bocsa) and a mother who was herself the daughter of a Greek immigrant... Sarkozy is an admirer of the United States. [2]
