Sargon II

Sargon II (ruled 722 - 705 BC) was a king of ancient Assyria, who ruled alongside Shalmaneser V. He conquered as far south as Samaria and Egypt.
Sargon continued the policies of relocating conquered peoples across the Assyrian Empire just as Tiglath-Pileser III had done. An inscription from Sargon at the time of the fall of Samaria boasts of carrying off 27,290 inhabitations "as booty."[1]
