New King James Version

The New King James Version is a translation of the Bible published by Thomas Nelson Publishers in 1982.[1] The preface describes it as a revision of the King James Version that follows Textus Receptus, the Greek text used by the translators of 1611.[2] Other modern translations use the Critical Text, which is based on older manuscripts. NKJV does include numerous passages translated from the Critical Text in footnotes.
As a result, the NKJV has earned the wrath of the King James only crowd.[3]
The NKJV is the translation used by the Home School Legal Defense Association in its magazine, The Home School Court Report.
