Isle of Arran

The Isle of Arran is the largest island situated in the Firth of Clyde, off the West Coast of Scotland. Often called 'Scotland in miniature' for its range and wealth of scenery. All this is within easy reach of Glasgow, making it an ideal holiday destination.
Brodick & Lochranza are the two main ports of entry. CalMac ferries sail from Brodick to Ardrossan in north Ayrshire. Lamlash, Blackwaterfoot & Whiting Bay are the other main villages on the island.
Thanks to the proximity of the Gulf Stream the island lies on the margins of a microclimate that allows subtropical plants such as palm trees to flourish in the gardens of Brodick Castle.[1]
