Denton is a city in north Texas. It is a growing suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth.

The city has expanded rapidly in recent years and is somewhat conservative, but has significant pockets of liberalism as it is home to two large public universities: Texas Woman's University (which has been officially co-educational since 1994, and counts among prominent former faculty Sarah Weddington, the plaintiff's attorney in the notorious Roe v. Wade decision) and The University of North Texas (best known for its world-renowned music program, but has significant liberal arts programs).
