Thomas Dexter Jakes (also known as T.D. Jakes and Bishop Jakes) is pastor of The Potter's House, a non-denominational and predominantly black church in Dallas, Texas. The church is listed by Christianity Today as one of the fastest growing in America. Their goal is to be a voice of spiritual hope to people of all races and denominations.[1] He describes himself as a political moderate.[2]
However, Jakes is controversial for his views on the Trinity, which have been described as either Oneness Pentecostal (which rejects the view of the Trinity) or Modalism; Jakes has avoided discussing the topic for the most part (some critics believe he does so deliberately).
