Early Life

Ilana Mercer was born in South Africa.<ref>[2] Her father, a rabbi and “vocal opponent of apartheid,” <ref>[3] National Review.<ref> <ref>[4] WorldNetDaily.<ref> was “harassed by the South African security forces”<ref>[5] National Review.<ref> and, consequently, moved his family to Israel.<ref>[(http://www.geoffmetcalf.com/qa/26773.html] Later returning to the country of her birth, Mercer earned degrees at the University of South Africa<ref>[6], before immigrating to Canada and finally settling in the United States.<ref>[7]
