Being a newcomer, I imagine I would get banned if I tried to delete and rewrite this page, but it's highly inaccurate.
Alexander Graham Bell was the first person to patent the telephone - he was not its inventor.
The inventor of the telephone was Antonio Meucci, and this was recognised by the US House of Representatives in Resolution 269, passed in 2002. -- Emmeline 12:19, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
