Kristi Noem
Kristi Noem (born November 30, 1971) is the governor of South Dakota, serving since January 2019. Previously, she served as the Republican Representative for the United States House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019. She was first elected in 2010, defeating incumbent Democrat Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. She is Pro-life, a rancher, a mother of three, a hunter and a conservative who represents South Dakota state House of Representatives since 2006. Right before being elected to Congress served as the Assistant Majority Leader.[1] Kristi Noem and her family lives on a ranch where they raise Angus cattle and show Quarter Horses. Noem has worked the family farm for 17 years, owned and operated a hunting operation, and helped manage the family restaurant.[2][3]
Kristi Noem has become a fundraising star for the GOP, raising more campaign cash than any other Republican challenger for U.S. House.[4]

In 2019, Noem signed a bill into law establishing constitutional carry,[5][6] as well as several pro-life bills.[7] On March 20, 2019, Noem signed a bill into law protecting intellectual diversity on college campuses.[8]
