Tesla Model 3

Telsa Model 3 is the next generation luxury electric car from Telsa Motors. The Model 3 is manufactured at the Tesla Factory located in Freemont California, and the batteries are produced at the Gigafactory 1 located in Sparks Nevada.

Features include 220-mile driving range and seating for five adults. Options include all-wheel drive, performance package, and autopilot. Supercharging is standard at any of the thousands of Tesla DC fast chargers located nationwide. Top speed is 132 - 162 MPH depending on the variant. Model 3 arrived for customers starting July 30, 2017. People who paid in full received the first deliveries.

Tax credit

American buyers can qualify for a $7500 Plug-in Electric Drive Vehicle Credit when purchasing Tesla vehicles. This credit is available to the first 200,000 customers who purchase, not lease, a Tesla car. The full rebate expired on December 31, 2018 and was replaced by a $3750 rebate which in turn will expire on July 31, 2019.

Variants

The Model 3 is available in numerous variants with prices ranging from $39,500 for the rear-wheel drive Standard Range Plus version to $59,500 for the Dual Motor all-wheel drive Performance version. Additional features such as Full Self Driving cost extra.

Sales

The Model 3 was unveiled on March 31, 2017. Less than a month later it was announced the car had received nearly 400,000 orders with down payments of $1000. On July 2, 2018 Elon Musk announced the Model 3 had reached the production milestone of 5000 cars per week. According to Bloomberg, as of late April 2019, Model 3 production has reached an estimated 236,824 units, approximately 5820 per week. This sales volume makes it one of the best-selling sedans in the U.S.
