Aswan Dam

The Aswan Dam in Egypt, built from 1960-1970, was a project of Gamal Abdel Nassar. The dam was built to prevent the Nile River from flooding and to generate electricity. A large number of Namibians were dislocated when their land was flooded by the project.^{[Citation Needed]}
