Scott Morrison is the prime minister of Australia, serving since 2018. He leads the right-of-center Liberal Party of Australia. Ideologically, he is relatively conservative and is known for his lead role in formulating and implementing Australia's tough policy toward illegal immigration.

In the 2019 national elections, Morrison won a surprise victory despite the polls predicting that the Australian Labor Party would win.[1] Celebrating his victory, Morrison promised to put the Australian people first.[2]
