Pakistani Occupied Kashmir (POK) refers to the areas of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir that are illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947. [1] Most of the present day inhabitants are not indigenous Kashmiris, but settlers from the Punjab province of Pakistan. [2][3]
