Constantius II

Constantius II (full name: Imperator Caesar Flavius Julius Constantius Augustus[1]) was Emperor of the Roman Empire from AD 337 to AD 361. He was a son of Constantine the Great and Fausta. He was an Arian Christian. As Emperor, he had to deal with wars against Sassanid Persia, Barbarian Invasions and Usurpations. Constantius promoted Arian Christianity, he suppressed Paganism and made edicts against Judaism. He also tried to weaken the position of Nicene Christianity by exiling several Nicene Christians. Such as Saint Athanasius, Pope Liberius, Archbishop of Mediolanum, Dionysius, Bishop Lucifer of Cagliari and others as well.
