Harris County is the largest county in the State of Texas. It is the county seat of Houston, Texas. It is a very liberal county, most of its state representatives and U.S. representatives being Democrats. Houston, once being the largest city with Republican mayor, became very liberal, thus making Harris County more of a Democrat county, despite the strong leanings of the Republican Party outside the city area, especially around the edge of the county.
