Fandom
Wikia[1] (formerly Wikicities[2]) is a wiki farm founded and run by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales and Wikimedia Foundation board member Angela Beesley.[3] It has raised millions in investments and reportedly enjoys preferential treatment by Wikipedia.[4] Wikia is slowly declining, and many of its wikis are now abandoned or receive few edits. It has changed to "FANDOM" on October 4, 2016, and will have the domain name in the links being changed to Fandom.com by early 2019,[5] starting on early October 2018.[6][7]
Wikis
Users make their own wikis, by making wikis for their own topic, like games, movies, TV shows, universes history, etc, and sometimes businesses. LyricWiki, the largest wiki with over 2 million pages, got blocked from editing. (The Wikia Staff blocked users and even LyricWiki administrators permanently from editing due to pornography concerns.
