The Cominform was a Lefitist Marxist institution made up of political parties to organize the post war activities of the radical left in 1947. While the cominform made plans for an "American Attack", no American political parties ever joined the group. It's activities mostly consisted of solving problems that arose following the Second World War, such as the fate of Yugoslavia and the dividing of eastern Europe between the victorious Soviet countries.

A stated goal of the Cominform was the destruction of Catholicism.

The Cominform was dissolved in 1956.
