NOFX
NOFX is a punk band from the Bay Area, California, United States. Formed in 1983, the current lineup includes Fat Mike (Mike Burkett), El Hefe (Aaron Abeyta), Eric Melvin and Erik Sandin. They are operate under the record labels of Epitaph Records and Fat Wreck Chords, the latter being a label set up by Mike himself.
Recent albums have included 'War on Errorism', 'Wolves in Wolves Clothing', 'Pump up the Valium/Valuum'. They are still touring and producing records, and Fat Mike has produced many musical acts of varying types and qualities. 'The War on Errorism' has proven to be a popular album, primarily due to the success of the song, "Franco Un-American", a song about modern American culture as perceived by Fat Mike, discussing many contemporary issues from a liberal standpoint.
The themes of many of this band's songs have included drugs, anti-Republican sentiments, lesbianism, and anal sex. Because of this, they are largely disliked in conservative American culture, although they are considered one of the best punk bands in the world since the late 1980s.
