Atheism

Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of any supernatural deity. This disbelief can take a number of forms, such as the assertion that deities do not exist, or the absence of any belief in any deity.

Stalin and Richard Dawkins are prominent atheists. Dawkins wrote a book, called "The God Delusion". Stalin is now dead, having killed millions of people in the name of Marxis-Leninism (which is predicated on atheism).

Atheist Morality

Since atheists have no God, as a philosophical framework atheism relies on understanding of the of how one's actions can have a widespread effect on others, and that hurting others will indirectly harm yourself. It is often said that morals come from a god figure, but the 'old testament' of the judaeo-christian faith, preaches many acts which by todays standards would be considered brutal and completely void of morals. Many more books of 'the bible' have since been written with updated morals standards relevant for their place in time, but this in itself is the proof that religion does not dictate the morals of man, but that man dictates the morals of religion.

Many theists will claim that atheist live their lives according to the rule that "anything goes" and that in recent years, this has led to a large rise in crime[1], drug use, pre-marital sex, teenage pregnancy,[2] pedophilia[3] and bestiality, but as one can clearly see, it is not the lack of godly morals that has led to the increase of such acts, it is the lack of moral development in mankind.
