Since there are no citations listed in this article, I am forced to wonder where the idea of the "nuclear family" as defined herein originates. As far as I am aware, the "mother/father/children" idea of family is actually relatively recent. For most of human history, I believe the most common family structure was a large community-based structure that went far beyond an individual bloodline.--Patthew 21:30, 12 June 2007 (EDT)
