Quick comment on copyrights

In the US, copyright notices are no longer required. In other words, taking text from a website with no copyright notice is just as much of an infringement as taking text from cnn.com. With regard to free licenses (like the GFDL), those licenses are viral, meaning that in order to use them, you have to release your content under that license. Since Conservapedia content is not GFDL, taking content from Wikipedia is as an infringement. In practical terms, there is zero chance of Wikipedia suing (since individual contributors, not Wikipedia, own the content), but even so, that's not a good way to do business. So the short version of all of this is that there is no legal difference between three of the four headers on this page - content from Wikipedia, cnn.com, and some guy's blog without a copyright notice is all copyright infringement. --BigDT 21:42, 18 June 2007 (EDT)
