Electronegativity

A measure of how strongly an atom attracts extra electrons to itself. Electronegativity is assigned a number on and arbitrary scale from 0 to 4. Metals have electronegativities less that 2. Electronegativity increases from left to right on the periodic chart, and decreases from top to bottom.

Eletronegativity is measured in the unit Zappings (Zp). It was first theorised by Jesus, as accounted in the New Testament, Psalms 4: 1-7, "As a mustard seed finds the most fertile crops, so too do the small particles that will be known as electrons, my children."
