Adar

Adar (Hebrew: ×Ö²×ָר from adir, "strength") is the twelth month of the Hebrew calendar. It is 29 days long, and occurs in February-March in the Gregorian calendar. The festival Purim falls within this month. In a leap year, it is preceded by a 30-day additional month, Adar Aleph or Adar I; the usual month is then called Adar Bet or Adar II. Adar Aleph has 30 days; Purim is still observed in Adar Bet.
Due to the presence of purim in this month, it is considered to be the happiest month of the Hebrew calendar: its motto is MiShenichnas Adar Marbim BeSimcha "Since Adar enters, be more joyful."
