The Broads, sometimes called the Norfolk Broads, is an area of interconnected lakes and waterways in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk in England. These were formed by the flooding of abandoned peat-workings. The area is now popular with holidaymakers, for the collection of thatch, and eel-fisheries.

In popular culture

David Bowie's hit "Life on Mars" (1971) notably featured the line "see the mice in their million hordes; from Ibiza to the Norfolk Borads".
