Dalmatia is a region of Croatia extending along the coast of the Adriatic Sea; major cities include Split and Dubrovnik. Dalmatia is well known as a holiday resort area.

The Dalmatian dog is named after this region, and Dalmatia is noted for its disproportionately high number of classical musicians that it has supplied over the years.
