Classical Antiquity is a time period extending from roughly 800BC (approx. date of Homer's first writings) to 500AD (approx. date of the fall of the Roman Empire). Classical Antiquity is generally considered to encompass the periods when the Greco-Roman culture was dominant around the Mediterranean Sea.
