Live Earth is a series of fundraisers organized by Kevin Wall and Al Gore featuring live popular music. They were scheduled for July 7th 2007 in New York and nine other cities worldwide. Artists participating in Live Earth include Duran Duran, Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Akon, Bon Jovi, Metallica, The Police, Dave Matthews Band, Garth Brooks, and John Legend. Concerts took place on every continent, including Antarctica (the band Nunatak performed at the Rothera Research Station).
The point of the concerts is to convince people of the Liberal claim that there is a "climate crisis" and to "motivate corporations and political leaders to enact decisive measures to combat [it]." [1]
