Inalienable rights

Inalienable rights are basic rights that cannot be taken away from someone, such as the right to life. These rights are endowed by God.
The Declaration of Independence describes inalienable (misspelled as unalienable) rights as the foundation for society, and if a sovereign (i.e., king) deprives those rights then the people may declare their independence.
