In "The Apostle John is accepted without question as the author of the Fourth Gospel.", who does the accepting? It isn't "everybody" as even the most cursory search will show; see for instance [1] and [2]. Even if the Apostle John is the author, there are people who don't accept that and/or question it. --Jtl 05:11, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

- I was going for "concise" so I left out some...scholarly stuff that was/is better off left in; but given the aire of the place lately I also did not want to be seen as "questioning" the authenticity of the Bible.
